IPL (intense pulsed light) Patch Test

A full  consultation and patch test is required before starting any laser or IPL treatments this is a legal requirement and will still need to be done even if you have had treatments elsewhere.

Treatment is only given to over 18’s.

You will be asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of your contact details, sun exposure history, medical history and any medication you may be currently taking.  This is to establish if you are suitable to have the treatment.

You will also be asked about how your skin reacts to sun exposure, allowing us to set the machine according to your skin type.

This process is to ensure we have the correct variables for your treatment and that this is done in a safe and effective manner.

Once your consultation is complete the patch test can be done, the area will be cleansed and cooling gel will be applied to your inner arm and 3 shots from the IPL handle will be applied to this area, the gel will then be removed and a small amount of aloe vera is applied to the area.

You must wait 48 hours following your patch test before starting any treatments.
